Serving the System program conceived for the Projected Visions: Baltic consisted of selected video works by four artists and a group of artists, all from the younger generation and connected to the geopolitical area that could be defined as the Baltic Sea Region or northern part of the former Eastern Block. Restaging the Past 3.10-9.11.2008
An exhibition realized within the program of Baltic/Balkans project. Regardless of the differing aspects of their regional debates, the both regions share the experience of peripherality as a result of being located “east of the West and west of the East.” Following the Second World War, this dichotomous picture of Europe, with a dividing line running between the Baltic and the Balkans, acquired a new stigma – the experience of communism and stormy transition processes, which affected the majority of the Balkan and East Baltic Nations.
